Overview:

The CAO Emergency Medicine has overall responsibility for the successful development, implementation and advancement of programmatic strategies and initiatives for the Department of Emergency Medicine. The incumbent leads the development, coordination and integration of emergency services across the region including clinical operations, training and research activities, network affiliations and quality and performance improvement across all JHM entities and affiliates. The CAO will collaborate with dedicated professionals committed to the mission of providing outstanding emergency care, performing impactful research and meaningful education. Requires a deep level of understanding of EMS systems and engagement and experience with pre-hospital care. Interacting with JHM leadership in multiple JHHS,JHU entities, departments and schools and with a variety of external stakeholders. Collaborates in local and state government as well as in national emergency medicine organizations and disaster management. The CAO works to further the clinical and academic missions of emergency medicine.
